Play With Remote Control Toys Indoors and Escape Those Cold Winds and Temperatures of Winter

Here in Indiana the temperatures were cold the last couple of days. Wind chills of below zero made sure no one wanted to go outside for any length of time, let alone pull out the remote control toys for an RC adventure.

There's not even any snow to create a removal project for your "snowplow modified" monster trucks.

Today the forecast calls for a warm up to 40-degrees - almost a heat wave for this time of year, still cold enough to keep me in the house though.

You don't have to miss out on your radio control playtime just because weather discourages you from venturing into the yard. Many RC models work well indoors, and there's a model in every branch of remote control for your selection.

Boating is perhaps the least adaptable RC hobby for providing pleasure inside the home. Unless you have an indoor swimming pool racing and sailing boats aren't ideal choices. If you have an aquarium the submarines can give you plenty of relaxation. They work in the tub too, but that isn't nearly as exciting as cruising around a fish tank. No scenery in the tub.

The most useful models are the cars, trucks, motorcycles, tanks, and construction equipment toys. Since they operate on solid surfaces your floor gives you plenty of playing area. Just clear away any furniture that's in your way and go cruising. Might want to stick with the electric toys though, the NITROs are a bit noisy for use in a small room, and the exhaust fumes tend to choke you in those enclosed spaces.

Those ground cruising vehicles offer lots of options for creating various activities.

Use the remote control construction equipment to build a little city in the corner of your room. Once you complete the construction project use the city for driving the cars, trucks, and SUVs around the streets, into the parking garages, to the movies, to the grocery, and to work or home.

Collect a variety of military vehicles, and stage a war on the living room floor. Line up the German Panzers, Panthers, and Tigers in a face off against the Allied Abrams, Leopards, and Bulldogs. Create a battlefield event to last all evening. If you have experienced piloting skills take your battle to the air. Have a dogfight, pitting the P51s and the Warhawks against the German Focke-Wulfs.

How about a battle between a Russian jet, and an F14 or F15? Fly a bombing mission with a B3 Bomber. Make a strafing run with an Apache helicopter.

Speaking of remote control aircraft, consider all the models awaiting your selection for flying fun.

Airplanes and helicopters come in mini and micro sizes designed for indoor flight. Some are even resistant to damage from crashes. If you're a beginning pilot, or have no indoor flying experience, these radio control aircraft models fit your needs. Many offer the perfect design for pilot training, and they're small enough that you won't destroy that chandelier if you fly into it.

If you want to enter into the air slow and easy a remote control blimp is the model for you. The blimps float around the room slow and easy so you can develop your maneuvering skills at the pace you choose.

Just because it's cold outside don't mean you must give up your RC hobbies.

Choose the radio control toy that's designed for your indoor requirements, and your remote control fun never ends.
